A driver was hospitalized this morning after a crash in San Francisco that damaged a traffic signal pole, a building and multiple parked cars, a police spokesman said.
The crash was reported at 9:48 a.m. at Geary and Larkin streets.
A car was traveling west on Geary Street when it was broadsided by a vehicle heading north on Larkin Street, police spokesman Officer Gordon Shyy said.
The collision sent the first car into the pole, knocking it down. The crash also damaged a building, two parked cars and some parking meters, Shyy said.
The driver was taken to a hospital with injuries that are not considered life-threatening, according to Shyy. He said the driver of the second vehicle was not injured.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation, but alcohol and drugs are not believed to have played a role, Shyy said.
