traffic.transit.jpgStreet Closure for Friends of the Urban of Forest Event
On Sunday Friends of the Urban Forest will be planting trees and hosting a block party on Bryant Street.

Bryant Street between 26th and Cesar Chavez streets will be closed between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m.

The 27 Bryant Muni route will be affected.

Sunday Meter Operation

Enforcement of parking meters already took effect and now operate on Sundays from noon to 6 p.m. throughout the city, except at Fisherman’s Wharf and the Port of San Francisco. Meters at Fisherman’s Wharf will continue to operate Monday to Sunday, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Meters in the Port of San Francisco jurisdiction (along the waterfront and some side streets) will continue to operate from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m., Monday through Sunday.

All meters citywide, including the Wharf and the Port, will have at least four hour time limits on Sunday, and all remaining one hour time limits at meters Monday through Saturday have been extended to two hours, further improving consistency at meters and driver convenience.

Parking Control Officers began issuing reminders last Sunday and will continue to issue reminders, not citations, on cars at expired meters through the grace period.

Pre-payment is allowed on parking meters for cars parked before noon and will not be charged until noon when meters are enforced. For example, if you park at 10 a.m. and need to stay until 2 p.m., you can pay at 10 a.m. for two hours of parking to cover noon to 2 p.m.

Pre-payment is available at 4:30 a.m. at all SFMTA meters every day of the week. If you choose to pay by phone or pre-pay, the displays on the meters themselves will not change and will continue to read “expired” after the transaction is complete. However, parking control officers will see that payments were made on their wireless handheld devices and will not cite vehicles at those meters. 49ers Football Playoff Game
On Saturday the San Francisco 49ers will host a divisional playoff game against the Green Bay Packers. The kickoff will take place at 5:15 p.m.

Gates to the parking lot will open at 1 p.m. and gates to the stadium will open at 3 p.m.

Motorists should expect delays on the Bay and Golden Gate Bridges and on US 101 near Candlestick Park for at least two hours before the start of the game and for at least two hours after the end of the game. Fans attending the games are encouraged to take public transportation or carpool. Drivers traveling between San Francisco and the San Francisco International Airport or San Jose can avoid delays by using the I-280 freeway instead of US 101.
