A man was critically injured when he was hit by a car in San Francisco on Friday evening, a police spokesman said today.
The northbound vehicle struck the 59-year-old man near Junipero Serra and Font boulevards at about 7:35 p.m. Friday, police spokesman Officer Albie Esparza said.
The pedestrian suffered a broken hip and internal injuries. He was taken to a hospital and was listed in critical condition, Esparza said.
The pedestrian was not in a crosswalk when he was struck, according to Esparza.
The driver stopped at the scene and cooperated with police, he said.
