sffd_firefighters.jpgSan Francisco firefighters battled at least two blazes in San Francisco this morning, one in Noe Valley and the other in Oceanview.

A fire at a single-family dwelling under construction on the 1400 block of Sanchez Street near 27th Street was reported shortly before 2 a.m. according to a fire dispatcher.

It was brought under control by 2:14 a.m.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation, fire officials said.

In addition, a two-alarm structure fire was reported to fire officials as at 5:31 a.m., according to a fire dispatcher.

Located at 119 Broad St., between Capitol and Plymouth avenues, the blaze has disrupted service on Muni’s M line, according to the SFMTA.

Twenty-five people were evacuated from the three-story building, according to fire officials.

Firefighters battled the blaze on the second floor of the building and were able to bring the fire under control at 6:14 a.m.

A firefighter was taken to a hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation, Assistant Fire Chief Tom Siragusa said.

No other injuries were reported and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.

The American Red Cross responded to the scene to assist those residents displaced by the fire.

In a third, more mysterious case, San Francisco’s text-based notification service, Alert SF, warned residents to “Avoid area of Broadway and Clement due to fire activity; expect MUNI delays as well” at 6:36 Thursday morning. However, as Broadway and Clement are not in the same area, we’ve had to reach out to officials for more information on that incident.
