policeblotter_sfa.jpgA teenage boy escaped while being transported to juvenile hall in San Francisco on Wednesday night, a police spokesman said today.

At about 8:35 p.m., the 16-year-old boy was being taken to the Youth Guidance Center at 375 Woodside Ave. by an independent transport service that was extraditing him from San Bernardino, police spokesman Officer Gordon Shyy said.

Upon arrival at the facility, the teen was able to escape from the transport service and fled on foot, Shyy said.

The driver gave chase in the vehicle but lost track of the boy. San Francisco police officers also responded and have not found him, but units were still searching the area this morning, Shyy said.

The teen is black, and was last seen wearing a glittery black tank top and dark acid-wash jeans, according to Shyy. He did not know what charges the boy was facing.
