sfpd_squad.jpgA man was sliced on the hand with a knife during an altercation aboard a San Francisco Municipal Railway bus in the city’s Haight-Ashbury neighborhood on Monday afternoon, police said today.

The attack occurred around 3:20 p.m. Monday on a Muni bus near Haight Street and Central Avenue.

During the altercation, the suspect took out a knife and the 54-year-old victim cut his hand while trying to grab it from him, according to police.

The suspect and victim then both got off the bus. The suspect, described as a man between 40 and 50 years old, fled and had not been found as of this morning, police said.

The victim was taken to a hospital to be treated for the cut to his hand, an injury not considered life-threatening.
