sfpd_arrestcuffs.jpgThe San Francisco Police Department has declared a two-week operation intended to “curtail narcotics trafficking and violent crime around schools” a success after 25 suspects were arrested for narcotics sales, SFPD said in a statement sent to media.

SFPD implemented “Operation Safe Schools” for two weeks beginning August 20, conducting “buy busts” near schools in the Bayview, Mission, and Tenderloin districts.

In all, seven “buy busts” were conducted, resulting in 25 felony arrests for narcotic sales to a police officer. The District Attorney’s office added additional charges to ten of those arrests, as SF law allows sentencing enhancements for some drug charges in school zones.
