The San Francisco medical examiner’s office today identified two men who were fatally shot in Visitacion Valley on Monday afternoon.

Frederick Glaspie, 27, and Marche Daniels, 25, were gunned down in the first block of Burr Avenue, near Argonaut Avenue, shortly after 1 p.m.

Officers responded at 1:12 p.m. to a report of a large fight, then received reports a minute later that two people had been shot, police said.

Glaspie and Daniels were taken to San Francisco General Hospital, where they were pronounced dead, according to police.

A city attorney’s document filed in 2010 in support of a requested gang injunction names both Glaspie and Daniels as alleged members of the Towerside criminal street gang based in Visitacion Valley.

The document includes a declaration from a police officer who said Daniels was shot and wounded in October 2008 by members of the rival gang Down Below Gangsters at Sunnydale and Garrison avenues. He was accompanied to the hospital after that shooting by Diondre “D-Nice” Young, according to the document.

Young was found fatally shot this March at Main and Harrison streets near the Bay Bridge.

No arrests have been made in connection with Monday’s shooting and no suspect information was immediately available this morning, police said.

Anyone with information about the deaths is encouraged to call the Police Department’s anonymous tip line at (415) 575-4444 or send a tip by text message to TIP411.
