policeblotter_sfa.jpgA woman was critically injured when she was stabbed in the chest with a screwdriver in San Francisco’s Mission District on Monday afternoon, police said.

The stabbing was reported around 1:30 p.m. Monday in the 2900 block of 26th Street, which is near York Street.

The 35-year-old victim got into an argument with the suspect, a man she knows, police said.

The suspect then stabbed the victim in the chest, according to police. She was taken to a hospital with injuries that are considered life-threatening.

Officers responded and arrested the suspect, a 27-year-old man.

Police did not elaborate on the nature of the relationship between the victim and the suspect, and have not yet released the suspect’s name.
