According to a press release sent by the SFPD, a man and woman have been booked at SF County Jail on homicide charges following a fatal shooting in the Bayview last week.

As previously reported, Calvin Sneed, 22, of Compton, was shot in the head shortly after 2 a.m. on June 4 as he was driving near Meade and Le Conte avenues (which the Chron describes as “near Candlestick Park”), according to police.

Sneed’s car then crashed into a parked car. He was taken to San Francisco General Hospital where where he succumbed to his injuries just three hours later, police said.

A 37-year-old SF woman identified by SFPD as Lupe Mercado and a 38-year-old SF man identified as Barry Gilton were booked into jail on suspicion of murder on Saturday, according to police. The Ex notes that police have yet to release a motive for the killing.

Police would not release mug shots of Mercado and Gilton, the Weekly reports, as identification issues remain.

Anyone with information on this incident is asked to contact Sgt. Braconi, Sgt. Watts, Inspector Jones or Inspector Cunningham of the SFPD Homicide Detail at (415) 553-1145.
