policeblotter_sfa.jpgA man was critically injured in a stabbing in San Francisco’s Tenderloin neighborhood early Sunday morning, police said today.

The stabbing was reported around 2:15 a.m. near Golden Gate Avenue and Hyde Street.

The 42-year-old victim was walking when six suspects approached him from behind and at least one stabbed him in the back with a knife, according to police.

The suspects, described as men in their 20s, fled and had not been found as of this morning, police said.

The victim was taken to a hospital to be treated for his injuries, which are considered life-threatening, according to police.
