bart_generic.jpgBART service was disrupted for over two hours Monday night after an apparent suicide at San Leandro’s Bay Fair station, BART officials said.

At 9:20 p.m. a man on the platform stepped in front of a Daly City-bound train moving through the station, BART police Lt. Andy Alkire said.

Initially, trains were running through the station but not stopping while emergency officials responded to the incident, a BART dispatcher said.

After around 30 minutes, passengers were allowed to get off the trains at Bay Fair but not board there, BART officials said.

BART police released the scene back to station officials shortly after midnight, and BART trains resumed running normally, officials said.
