The two men killed in San Francisco after two separate shootings Friday night have been identified.
At around 7:30 Friday night, 24-year-old San Francisco resident Georgio
Joseph was shot near Plymouth Avenue and Broad Street in the city’s Oceanview neighborhood.
Joseph died at the scene, police said.
Police said Joseph was chased by two male suspects and shot multiple times in front of, reports ABC7, a family resource center.
According to Appeal reader A, the M-Oceanview Muni line was stopped in both directions as police investigated the shooting. The SFMTA confirms this report, eventually sending shuttle buses to run a detoured route around the scene.
In a second incident, SFPD responded to the 1100 block of Turk Street, which is near Laguna, at 9:38 p.m. and found 54-year-old James Lee and a 27-year-old woman suffering from gunshot wounds, police said.
Both victims were taken to a hospital, where Lee was pronounced dead. The female victim is expected to survive, according to police.
The Ex reports that SFPD says Lee was a San Francisco resident, but that the Medical Examiner has not been able to confirm that.
No suspects are in custody, nor is any suspect information immediately available in either case, police said Sunday night.
Joseph’s death is San Francisco’s 23rd homicide of 2012, Lee’s death is the 24th.
