policeblotter_sfa.jpgA man was critically injured in a stabbing in San Francisco’s Tenderloin neighborhood early Saturday morning, police said.

The stabbing was reported at about 2:20 a.m. in the 200 block of Leavenworth Street, which is near Turk.

The 19-year-old victim was standing on a street corner when someone approached him from behind and stabbed him in the back, according to police.

The victim was taken to San Francisco General Hospital to be treated for his injuries, which are considered life-threatening, police said.

The suspect fled after the stabbing and had not been found as of this morning, according to police.
