San Francisco police are asking the public’s help in finding three suspects believed to be responsible for two separate hate crime attacks in the city’s Castro and Hayes Valley neighborhoods in recent weeks.
The first assault occurred around 2:30 a.m. on March 29 in the 400 block of Castro Street, which is near Market Street, while the second occurred at about 10:40 p.m. on April 7 near the intersection of Market and Gough streets, according to police.
In both cases, the suspects attacked victims while yelling homophobic remarks, police said.
The first suspect is described as a Hispanic man around 25 to 30 years old who is about 6 feet tall, weighs 170 pounds, has black hair and is clean-cut, according to police.
The second suspect is described as a Hispanic or white man who is about 25 to 30 years old, about 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighs about 150 pounds and has blonde, spiky hair. He was last seen wearing a black puffy jacket and blue jeans, police said.
The third suspect is described as a white or Hispanic male, about 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighs about 150 pounds and has short blonde hair. He was last seen wearing blue jeans, police said.
Investigators believe the suspects speak with either an East Coast or foreign accent, and have released sketches of the three men.
