policeblotter_sfa.jpgA woman was stabbed in the neck in San Francisco’s South of Market neighborhood on Monday night, police said.

The 34-year-old victim was standing on the sidewalk in the 400 block of Minna Street, which is near 5th Street, shortly before 10:15 p.m. Monday when a suspect approached from behind and stabbed her in the neck with a knife, according to police.

The woman was taken to San Francisco General Hospital to be treated for her injuries, which are not considered life-threatening, police said.

The suspect, a man believed to be in his 40s, fled and has not been found.
