San Francisco police are looking for a suspect in an afternoon bank robbery in the city’s Mission District.
The crime was reported at 2:20 p.m. in the 2000 block of Mission Street, near the 16th Street/Mission BART station, police spokesman Officer Albie Esparza said.
Esparza said a man walked into the branch and handed the teller a note stating that he was robbing the bank.
He then fled. Esparza said he did not yet know whether the man had taken any money from the bank.
The man is described as Hispanic, between 30 and 40 years old and standing between 5 feet 1 inch and 5 feet 7 inches tall. He was wearing a gray sweater with a zipper, Esparza said.
