A man was shot while waiting for a friend near San Francisco State University on Wednesday night, San Francisco police said.

The shooting was reported at about 9:20 p.m. Wednesday in the 300 block of Arballo Drive.
The 25-year-old victim was approached by a suspect who shot him in the leg. He was taken to a hospital and is expected to survive, according to police.

The suspect fled and remained at large this morning. Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call the Police Department’s anonymous tip line at (415) 575-4444 or send a tip by text message to TIP411.
