sfpd_gunpoint.jpgA woman was shot while struggling with a purse-snatcher on San Francisco’s Geary Boulevard early Sunday morning, police said.

The shooting was reported at 2:57 a.m. near Scott Street.

The 49-year-old victim was walking west on Geary Boulevard when a man approached and tried to pull the purse from her shoulder, according to police.

As the victim was struggling with the suspect, he pulled out a gun and shot her. The bullet grazed her stomach then struck her arm, police said.

The suspect, a man in his 20s, fled with the purse and had not been found as of this morning.

A passerby stopped and called 911 for the victim, whose injuries are not considered life-threatening, according to police.
