A man was critically injured in an attack in San Francisco’s Tenderloin neighborhood that occurred when he walked to a corner store to get drinks Saturday evening, police said.
The attack was reported at about 7:55 p.m. Saturday in the 100 block of Golden Gate Avenue, near Jones Street.
The 32-year-old victim had gone to the store and when he didn’t return, his wife went looking for him, according to police. She found him unconscious in the street with some sort of head trauma.
The man was taken to San Francisco General Hospital to be treated for his injuries, which are considered life-threatening.
No witnesses to the attack have come forward, so investigators are seeking help from the public, police said.
