pg&e_blackout(2).jpg7:58 PM: Power has been restored to thousands of PG&E customers who were in the dark tonight after an outage in San Francisco, a utility spokesman said.

The outage was caused by underground equipment failure and was reported at 6:24 p.m., spokesman J.D. Guidi said.

Guidi said 3,126 customers were initially without power in San Francisco’s Western Addition, Eureka Valley, and Haight-Ashbury neighborhoods.

As of 7:21 p.m., 800 customers remained without power and no estimated time was available for when power would be restored.

7:18 PM: Some 3,100 PG&E customers are without power in San Francisco tonight, according to the utility.

The outage is affecting portions of the Western Addition, Eureka Valley, and Haight-Ashbury neighborhoods.

Information regarding the cause of the outage and an estimated time that power would be restored was not immediately available.
