Shortly after 7 p.m., police responded to Mission Street and Excelsior Avenue where a male pedestrian had been struck while crossing Mission Street, police said.

The vehicle was driving northbound on Mission Street, passing Excelsior Avenue.

The victim was taken to San Francisco General Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
