cover-crosswalk.jpgA man suffered serious injuries when he was struck by a car in San Francisco’s Chinatown neighborhood on Sunday morning, police said today.

The accident was reported at about 9:35 a.m. Sunday near the intersection of Kearny and Washington streets.

A vehicle was backing up when it struck the 33-year-old victim, who was crossing the street in the middle of the block, according to police.

The victim was taken to a hospital to be treated for his injuries, which are considered life-threatening, police said.

The driver stopped at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
