So, you’ve finally decided to file your taxes at the last possible second, but thanks to some awesome extended hours at a few post offices, you’re not totally screwed. And once you’re done, if you feel like getting mad about companies some feel aren’t paying their fair share, well, we know where you can do that, too.
Procrastinating SFians are being served by the post office at 1300 Evans Ave., which will have window hours from 7 AM-8:30 PM, and will have curbside service until 10 PM. If you prefer to mail your returns elsewhere in the Bay Area, the BC has a list of open-late POs outside the city.
If you’re one of the “Deadbeat Dozen,” however, who cares when you pay?
MoveOn.org does, and they’ve got two local protests for those of you who believe large corporations are doing everything in their power to avoid paying taxes like the rest of us. The two local companies in question, Google and Wells Fargo, will be met with protesters this afternoon hand-delivering them tax bills.
Those of you who are mad and unable to take it anymore can meet at Google Headquarters at noon or Wells Fargo Headquarters at 4:30 to make ’em pay. Just not literally.
This is, Moveon says in a release, part of a nationwide Tax Day campaign. Protesters elsewhere will target other members of what they refer to as the “Deadbeat Dozen,” like GE, Bank of America, Google, BP, Amazon, Wells Fargo, Citigroup, Boeing, ExxonMobil, FedEx, Goldman Sachs, and Chase.
Google is located at 2400 Bayshore Parkway in Mountain View, while Wells Fargo sits in the Financial District in SF at 420 Montgomery St.
