sfpd_squad.jpgA yellow Lamborghini belonging to a celebrity chef was stolen early Tuesday by a daring thief who entered a car dealership on San Francisco’s Van Ness Avenue after rappelling down the side of the building.

The theft is believed to have occurred sometime between 3:40 a.m. and 5:15 a.m. Tuesday at a car dealership in the 900 block of Van Ness Avenue, police Officer Albie Esparza said.

Esparza said the suspect rappelled down from the roof of the building, entered through a window and drove away in a yellow 2008 Lamborghini Gallardo two-door convertible, a car priced at more than $200,000.

“It’s a very distinctive car, for sure,” Esparza said. “I don’t know how far this person is going to go.”

The car belonged to Guy Fieri, a chef who has hosted several TV shows including “Guy’s Big Bite” on the Food Network and “Minute to Win It” on NBC, Fieri’s public relations firm confirmed.

Esparza said investigators are reviewing the dealership’s surveillance video for clues in the case.

Officials at the dealership, British Motor Car Distributors, were not immediately available for comment this morning.
