San Francisco Giants fans disappointed about not buying tickets for the 2011 season before they sold out have been given an opportunity to have first dibs on 2012 tickets.

Officials announced today the creation of a waiting list for people hoping to grab season tickets for the 2012 season before they sell out, like they did earlier this year for the 2011 season.

“This is the first time we’ve had a list like this since 2007,” said Staci Slaughter, a spokeswoman for the Giants.

She said the team doesn’t use established waiting lists every year. Ticket sellers create lists on a case-by-case basis depending on demand.

This year, more than 27,700 full season tickets were sold, according to Giants officials.
The “On-Deck Wait List” requires a $500 non-refundable deposit that will be applied toward the season ticket price when seats become available.

If the Giants reach the post-season, members of the On-Deck Wait List will receive early access to buy potential first round playoff tickets. Members will also have early access to pre-sale tickets for individual, group and luxury suite tickets, officials said.

In addition, discount coupons for buying team merchandise are benefits of joining the wait list. Members will also receive invitations to exclusive events.

Fans interested in joining the On-Deck Wait List should call (415) 972-2298.
