police-light-bar1.jpgA man whose body washed up in the waters near San Francisco’s Fort Mason on Tuesday afternoon has yet to be identified, medical examiner’s officials said today.

The body was found at about 4:45 p.m. Tuesday by a park visitor who saw the body floating in the water near the Firehouse at Lower Fort Mason, National Park Service spokeswoman Alexandra Picavet said.

The park service is handling the investigation because Fort Mason is part of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area.

The cause of the man’s death, as well as his name, have not yet been determined, according to the medical examiner’s office.
