cover-crosswalk.jpgA man in his 50s was struck by a car while walking in a crosswalk in San Francisco’s Richmond District this morning, police said.

The man was crossing at the intersection of Fulton Street and Park Presidio Boulevard at about 6:40 a.m. when he was hit by a car making a right turn, according to police.

The man was transported by ambulance to San Francisco General Hospital, San Francisco fire Lt. Mindy Talmadge said. Talmadge did not know the extent of the victim’s injuries.

A citation was not issued to the driver, police said.

This morning’s crash is the latest in a recent string of run-ins between pedestrians and vehicles in San Francisco.

On March 18, 71-year-old Lourdes Richman was fatally struck by a truck in a South of Market crosswalk. Four days earlier, Aurora Venida, 87, was struck by a car at Geary and Arguello boulevards and later died at a hospital.
