This weekend, 7 p.m., Friday until 5 a.m., Monday, rail improvement work will resume along the J Church Line at the intersections of Church Street at 18th Street and at San Jose Avenue at 30th Street. More details, map, etc here.

Anti-War Rally and March
On Saturday at 11 a.m. an anti-war rally will begin at Civic Center Plaza followed by a march. The march is scheduled to begin at noon and proceed north on Larkin Street, east on O’Farrell Street, south on Grant Street, west on Market Street and back across McAllister Street to Civic Center Plaza.

Prior to the march, Market Street between 3rd and 10th streets will be closed to traffic. Cross traffic will also be impacted. Streets will re-open as the march passes.

Muni customers wishing to participate or who otherwise want to go downtown are advised to take Muni Metro.

Emerald Across the Bay 12K
On Sunday the Emerald Across the Bay 12K race will be held from East Fort Baker in Marin County to Aquatic Park starting at 8 a.m.

Runners will leave East Fort Baker, run across the Golden Gate Bridge to Battery East Road. The runners will continue through the Presidio to Marina Boulevard and proceed through Fort Mason to Aquatic Park. One lane of Marina Boulevard will be closed in the westbound direction from Marina Gate to Buchanan Street from 8 to 11 a.m.

The 19 Polk Muni terminal on Beach Street will be temporarily relocated to Larkin Street at Beach from 6 to 9 a.m.

Little League Parade

On Sunday San Francisco Little League Baseball will open the 2010 season with a parade from the Presidio to Marina Middle School.

Beginning at 10 a.m. the parade will leave the Presidio Main Post through the Gorgas Gate, turn south on Lyon and proceed east on Union Street to Laguna Street, north to Chestnut Street, west to Divisadero, through the neighborhood and back to Bay Street to disband in the school parking lot.

San Francisco Police Officers will monitor the parade for necessary street closures.
