Last month the Chronicle reported that notoriously “portly” San Francisco Giant Pablo Sandoval was making progress in his employer-mandated weight loss program, and while skeptics raised their eyebrows, Panda’s recent twitter profile pic seems to prove it — look at that guy!

Reporters are speculating that he’s lost anywhere from 17 to 35 pounds. According to Giants fan, one-time personal trainer and Appeal staffer Tim Ehhalt, he believes Sandoval “probably lost more than 20 lbs. of fat and put on some muscle. Looks great, looks healthy.” But don’t take Ehhalt’s word for it — you can see Sandoval at Giants FanFest this Saturday at 11 AM.

Sadly, neither Sandoval nor the Giants will comment on his Black Swanification, though he is posting diet tips on Twitter. Apparently, on a low carb, high protein, small portion diet, with 6 days of training a week, you, too, can get the Beach Panda Bod. Just stay away from Buca di Beppo.
