9:36 PM: Two children were injured and four adults were hospitalized from being pepper sprayed at the Powell Street BART and Muni station in San Francisco this evening, a police spokesman said.
Someone sprayed pepper spray for unknown reasons near turnstiles in the Powell Street BART and Muni station at about 6 p.m., according to a police spokesman and the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency.
No one was seriously injured, but two station agents and two bystanders were taken to a local hospital as a precaution. Another two adults and two children were also sprayed, but they didn’t need to go to the hospital, police Sgt. Michael Andraychak said.
Responding fire and police officers closed the station for about 15 minutes to investigate the spraying. Muni service ran through the station but didn’t stop, Andraychak said.
No arrests were made and police haven’t identified any suspects.
7:27 PM: Four people were hospitalized after someone sprayed pepper spray at an entrance of the Powell Street BART and Muni station in San Francisco this evening, a spokesman said.
Someone sprayed pepper spray for unknown reasons at about 6:20 p.m. at one of the Powell Street entrances to BART and Muni, San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency spokesman Paul Rose said.
No one was seriously injured, but two station agents and two bystanders were taken to a local hospital as a precaution. An additional two were sprayed but did not need to go to the hospital, Rose said.
Rose could not say if any arrests were made. A police spokesperson was not immediately available for comment.
