Feeling like tying one on, then driving through the Richmond? NEVER a good idea, friends, but it’s an even worse one this Saturday night.

According to a news release sent to media by the SFPD, starting at 8:30 PM Saturday, February 26 to 1 AM Sunday February 27, the US Park Police will join our local police force in checking drivers for drunkenness at Geary Blvd. and 9th Ave.

An area, to which the map above can attest, that’s just chock full of places where one might get hammered and hop behind the wheel.

Well, don’t do that. Take a bus or catch a cab, seriously.

In the release, Capt. Al Casciato of SFPD”s traffic company pithily remarks that the cops “never call a DUI crash an accident. They are collisions, 100 percent preventable collisions. Everyone knows that driving drunk or high kills people.”
