7:48 AM: According to news reports, SF had its sixth homicide Thursday afternoon, after a fatal shooting of a man inside a cafe adjacent to the 1000 Van Ness movie theater.

According to reports, police were called to the Jebena Coffee and Tea Company at 900 Polk Street at 4:24 Thursday, where they discovered a 25-year-old man dead of multiple gunshot wounds.

KTVU is reporting that witnesses say the victim appeared to be fleeing from his shooter, and attempted to hide in the coffee shop. Police tell the AP they believe “the victim was targeted by the gunman.” The Examiner reports that both the suspect and the victim were black males, but didn’t have any other details on either.

The suspect fled on foot. Police told KTVU that they were pulling area surveillance video in an attempt to identify him, but no arrests had been made at publication time.

9:16 AM: Ari Burack of Bay City News reports that the victim was identified by the medical examiner’s office as Terry Turner, a San Francisco resident. The Chronicle and Weekly report that Turner was 29 years old, not 25, as previously reported.

Turner was shot, Burack reports, multiple times in the abdomen and head with a handgun. The man who shot Turner also took a bag from him, police said.

No arrests have been made as of this morning.

10:08 AM: CBS5 is reporting that the police have a suspect description, saying that Turner’s shooter was “a 30-year-old black male, 6′, 190 lbs. with short hair and a scruffy beard. The man was wearing a green ski or cargo jacket and dark-colored pants.”
