sfpd_crimescene.jpgSan Francisco police are investigating the death of a man who was found rain-soaked and lying in the street in the Tenderloin two weeks ago as a possible homicide.

Homeless outreach police officers found Raymond Leong, 62, in the 1000 block of Geary Street at about 8 a.m. on Nov. 20, police spokesman Lt. Troy Dangerfield said today.

Leong, of San Francisco, was pronounced dead en route to the hospital a short time later.

Police initially believed that Leong might have died of hypothermia, but the subsequent discovery of some bruising on his body led investigators to declare his death a possible homicide, Dangerfield said.

An official cause of death has not yet been determined.
