police-light-bar1.jpgOne person involved in a rollover crash on a stretch of U.S. Highway 101 in San Francisco this morning was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence, a California Highway Patrol officer said.

A call came in at 2:28 a.m. reporting the distressed vehicle on southbound U.S. Highway 101 somewhere between Octavia Boulevard and Cesar Chavez, CHP Officer Ralph Caggiano said.

The extent of the injuries of those involved was not yet available, however, Caggiano said that there were “several complaint of pain injuries.”

A San Francisco fire dispatcher said that a few people were transported to San Francisco General Hospital, but did not disclose how many victims were taken for treatment.

Caggiano said that CHP officers arrested one person on suspicion of driving under the influence.

San Francisco police officers also responded to the scene and apparently detained a number of people involved in the traffic collision, Caggiano said.

As of 5:30 a.m., a spokesman for the Police Department was unreachable for comment.
