shooting_nighttime.jpgThree people injured in a shooting in San Francisco’s Potrero Hill neighborhood on Sunday night are in stable condition today, a police spokesman said.

Two men and a young child were shot near 25th and Connecticut streets at about 10 p.m. Sunday, police said.

The child, a 3-year-old girl, was shot multiple times. Her 52-year-old grandfather, who was trying to shield her with his body, was hit once, police said.

Police believe the grandfather and child were unintended victims of the attack.

The third victim was a 20-year-old man, police said.

All three victims were taken to hospitals, and as of 11:30 a.m.

today, they were all considered to be in stable condition, police said.

The shooting appears to be gang-related, police spokesman Officer Albie Esparza said.

The suspect is described only as a black man between the ages of 18 and 25 wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and dark pants.
