sfpd_crimescene.jpgA man killed in a drive-by shooting early this morning in San Francisco’s Excelsior District has been identified as 33-year-old Shaun Balleza, police said.

At about 1:10 a.m., two victims were standing outside in the 200 block of Ney Street when a gray four-door Japanese model car drove by, San Francisco police Officer Albie Esparza said.

Two suspects opened fire as the vehicle passed, killing Balleza and injuring another victim, who were transported to a local hospital.

The injuries to the unidentified victim are not thought to be life threatening, Esparza said.
No suspect information was available.

In an unrelated shooting, one man was injured when gunfire erupted at about 11 p.m. Tuesday on Mission Street between 16th and 17th streets.
