vote_lede_template.jpgShake off your Giants triumph hangover — today is Election Day for the 2010 Consolidated General Election, and polling places will be open from 7 AM to 8 PM citywide.

If you haven’t already figured out where your polling place is, you can use the official polling place lookup tool here. If that fails you, you can still provisionally vote — as SFist reminds us, it’s better than nothing. Any SF voter can also (non-provisionally) vote at the Department of Elections, located at the ground floor of City Hall

Vote-by-mail voters who have not yet returned their ballot may drop it off at the Department of Elections office in City Hall or at any polling place in San Francisco by 8 PM today. Postmarks don’t count!

The Department of Elections will start releasing results at 8:45 tonight, with the first round being just the They’ll keep on releasing revised counts every half hour or so, as results from polling places come in.

You can follow results online at your favorite news sources (hint, hint), of course. You can also keep an eye on them online: here’s the CA state results page, and here’s the one for SF’s results. You can also watch live coverage on SFGTV at cable channel 26.
