shooting_nighttime.jpgPolice are searching for a person suspected of shooting a man as he sat in his car in San Francisco’s Sunset District this evening.

Officers responded to a 9:36 p.m. report of shots fired on the 500 block of Noriega Street, San Francisco police spokesman Officer Albie Esparza said.

Arriving police found a 27-year-old man sitting in a parked car and suffering from gunshot wounds. Officers believe he was shot while sitting in the car.

Medics transported the man to a local hospital where he his injuries are being treated. His current condition is unknown as of about 11 p.m., Esparza said.

Police believe the suspected shooter is another 27-year-old man, Esparza said. Police are investigating the case and at this point it is not clear if the incident is gang-related.
