San Francisco police rescued a man in the water near Pier 45 today, the U.S. Coast Guard said.

A man was seen swimming in the water near the Harbor Queen vessel and encountered some sort of difficulty, Petty Officer David Font said.

Police were notified of the issue by Harbor Queen crewmembers just before 4 p.m., Font said.

“Police made sure he got out of the water and rendered assistance,” Font said.

Officials were unable to comment on the man’s condition.
