muni_generic.jpgSan Francisco Municipal Railway service was disrupted for a few hours tonight when a light-rail vehicle derailed near Church and Markett, a Muni spokesman said.

An inbound N-Judah train left the tracks at about 6:45 p.m. at Church Street and Duboce Avenue, municipal transit agency spokesman Paul Rose said.

No injuries were reported, but the vehicle was blocking the intersection, he said.

Shuttles provided service in the area for the N-Judah and J-Church lines until about 9:15 p.m. The light-rail lines were switching back at the Castro Street station, Rose said.

He said it wasn’t clear tonight why the train derailed, and that the investigation was likely to last a couple of days.
