giants tickets.jpgSan Francisco police are alerting Giants fans of several cases in which people have purchased fraudulent World Series tickets for up to $1,000.

Police said today that seven cases were reported from Wednesday’s game. The purchasers bought the tickets from private sellers online.

“And when they showed up at the game, it was a bogus ticket,” police spokesman Officer Albie Esparza said.

Police are advising residents that the only way to ensure a ticket is valid is to buy it directly from the San Francisco Giants website or through StubHub.com.
