The shelter is waiving most of the adoption fees for black and orange cats in honor of the Giants’ post-season success.

The fee will be $9 until Oct. 31 — down from $80 for adult cats and $95 for kittens.

More than 50 black, orange, or mostly black or orange cats are still available for adoption, according to the humane society.

“While we can always use the revenue from full adoption fees, it’s far more important to find good homes,” humane society president Ken White said in a statement.

The shelter will also give a special gift to the adopter who comes up with the best Giants-themed name for their new cat or kitten.

Adoptions include spay or neuter surgery, a microchip, vaccinations, and a health and behavior screening, shelter officials said.

Adoption hours are from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekdays and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekends. Customers should come at least an hour before closing time to complete an adoption.
