gay_money.jpgAppeal pal Michael Petrelis tipped us off to a strongly worded editorial in today’s Bay Area Reporter, “San Francisco’s oldest and largest local newspaper of record serving the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender communities.”

In the unbylined editorial, the publication calls for the resignation of Amy Andre, the executive director of the San Francisco LGBT Pride Celebration Committee — that is, the folks who run San Francisco’s Pride celebration (parade, parties, etc).

Citing a budget defect of 9 $99,000, the BAR also reports that a recent fundraising party actually lost $6,000 and says that months of attempts made to speak with Pride organizers Andre, board president Mikayla Connell, and treasurer Belinda Ryan have been met with silence.

The whole editorial is pretty damning, you can read it here. Perhaps unsurprisingly, attempts by the Appeal to get Andre’s response to the editorial went unanswered. Know anything? The tipline’s always open.
