earthquake.jpgThe U.S. Geological Survey is reporting a pair of earthquakes with a preliminary magnitude of 2.0 struck Monday night in Alameda County.

According to the USGS, at 11:04 p.m. a tremor originating from the Hayward Fault washed across San Ramon.

The quake, which had a depth of 2.4 miles, was centered about 1 mile east of Hayward near Garin Regional Park, according to the USGS.

This is the second temblor that rattled the Hayward area -- on Monday at 5:53 p.m. a shallow earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 2.0 and a depth of 0.7 miles shook the same region.
