thumper.jpgLast week we told you about the 23 rabbits confiscated from a Mission District pet store apparently unaware that the sale of the precious and furry animals was illegal. The owners could face up to $1150 in charges for the offense.

The animals have since been in the custody of SF County’s Animal Care and Control, which held an event last Saturday to find homes for the bunnies. While several of the bunnies were adopted, more remain still waiting to be given homes.

It’s $60 for to adopt male long-eared cutie pies, $70 for female long-eared cutie pies, which includesfree spaying, neutering and a general health exam from a vet. The ACC’s website has all the details, you can see more pictures of them here.

Marcy Schaff of Save a Bunny Rabbit Rescue emphasizes that these bunnies are indoor pets, and that “…when cared for properly, can live to be more than 10 or 11 years old.”
