You underestimate my age, sir. The Insane Clown Posse did not exist back then, and we all listened to the wireless in the snow, uphill.

Daamn. Now I feel really luck that the cops who busted up my bonfire a few weeks ago decided not to ticket (although it still sucked to have our party pooped)!

Fans of Ocean Beach at sunset and after dark might be interested in a proposed project that will ruin the evening skies at Ocean Beach and take up parking places in the Ocean Beach lots. There is a proposal to build a sports complex directly across the Great Highway, in Golden Gate Park. It will have plastic grass fields and 60 foot stadium lights that are turned on before sunset and stay on until 10:00 p.m. every night of the year. The lights will shine over the low trees that line the Great Highway. To get an idea of what the lights will look like, go to 40th Avenue and Wawona any evening after dark. The lights are visible all the way down to La Playa. Overflow parking from a new championship field will be directed to the Ocean Beach parking lot.
There are alternatives to this project that should be explored, so that people can enjoy active recreation AND Golden Gate Park and Ocean Beach can be saved as parkland.
