3:53 PM: Just in time for rush hour, Holldan says the scene has been cleared and the N’s back in regular service. Our tipster tells us that “the N carcass has been moved.” Dear, weird, long, N, you were too good for this world, like that two headed kitten. Rest in peace, friend.

SF MTA spokesperson Kristin Holland just let the media know that both directions of the N Judah were disrupted as of 2:30 by a mechanical problem at 9th and Irving. Shuttle buses are doing their shuttle thing from Carl Street and Hillway Avenue to Judah Street and 19th Avenue.

The Appeal’s own Megan Allison, a witness to the scene, says part of the problem might be a “three-car (??) N-Judah out of service…just sitting on 9th & Irving, hasn’t moved for several minutes, says no passengers.”

A tipster tells us that “one train sorta died, and then they sent out the wrong kind of truck to move it hence the delays.”
