1/8 11:34 AM: Bay City News has some more details: The ME’s office has Identified the female victim of Wednesday’s fatal pedestrian/car accident as 54-year-old Feng Lian Zhu. They also note that the driver of the car, who (as we note below) did stop at the scene and was not arrested, was driving a Toyota Corolla.
Police said the incident is still being investigated.
1/7 9:55 AM: According to SFPD spokesperson DeWayne Tully, the woman struck by a car yesterday at 6:23 PM was pronounced dead of her injuries at 3:15 this morning at SF General.
The victim, whose name has not been released, was traveling north in the crosswalk at Sloat and Forest View (Not Forest Side, as previously reported) when the driver, a 68-year-old San Francisco resident, struck her. The driver, who did stop, has not been arrested, but Tully stresses that the matter is still under investigation.
Appeal commenter tomprete notes that the intersection (which Tully said and Google Street view confirms does not have any stop or signal) “still had a lot of debris from burned road flares in the intersection and crosswalk” as of 8 this morning.
