I'd also like to know why some bus shelters are built a fair distance away from where the bus is supposed to stop. As an example, look at the bus stop at 9th and Mission Streets on the north side. The shelter is about a bus length away from where the bus actually stops.

BTW, the stop in that photo was a 26 Valencia stop last time I was there. Poor 26!

Here in the warm and sunny outer Sunset, we have no need for Muni shelters. A bit of yellow paint on a pole protects us from the elements.

Dear Ask the Appeal, what do they do with the bus stops on the lines they decommissioned? Can you buy a bus shelter for your home? If so, for how much?

Doesn't ClearChannel actually own the shelters? They may decide which stops get them.
